Recommended Asian Food

Like all cooking, asian cooking relies on good quality ingredients. Since I do a lot of trial and error, I thought I'd share my favorite products. I rely only on my own taste-buds and have no commercial affiliation in any way with anything I recommend; I'm just trying to share knowledge. Please post comments or recommend products.

I tried this soy sauce yesterday and was impressed with its flavor and balance. I had not heard of the Kim Ve Wong brand from Taiwan before. I tried it because I liked the taiwanese Wa Cha brand so much I wanted to see if other taiwan soy sauces were also good. It's a bit pricey ($3.50) for everyday use but it has that "high quality" almost shoyu taste to it. I think it would be good for dipping or other dishes where the soy was featured. It has no chemical preservatives and not even alcohol so make sure you refrigerate it. Note that even though this is called "XO" soy sauce, it doesn't seem to bear any relation to XO Sauce.
